Check In and Be a Part of our Grow a Tree Project

For every check in - We shall plant and nurse a tree to maturity

Our Eco-friendly Projects

We, at Jade green being extremely conscious of the heavy impact of the tourist industry on the ecosystem, particularly the consumption of energy and generation of waste, have been employing eco-friendly practices from the design through to the operational stage of the hotel and restaurant.

In further pursuit of this objective, we have now commenced implementation of an integrated green project to make our guests feel that they are a part of an environment friendly campaign.

We have already planted 5,000 trees various forest species within a block of 20 acres of hilly land in  Rakwana.  All these species are recommended for use as timber and would be harvested within the next twenty to thirty years and replanted immediately to sustain the forest.  The extent under forestry would be expanded by growing more trees as planned below.

25,000  trees in December 2019

50,000 trees between September and December 2020

100,000 trees between September and December 2021

100,0000 trees between September and December 2022

A forest plant nursery would be established at Rakwana with an initial capacity of 75,000 plants,in 2020 and gradually increasing it to 150,000 to supply the needs of the tree project.

There are many land owners in the area who have denuded their hilly lands by felling trees for timber.  These sloping lands are subject to heavy soil erosion. We have plans to use our project as a demonstration and induce them to plant their lands too with forest trees.  We expect to supply the requied plants from our nursery.

The forestry project besides providing timber would have several beneficial effects on the environment including reducing soil erosion and land slides, improving water conservation, improving the quality of air by particle and dust trapping, improving the environment for animals etc.

A roof mounted solar power generating plant with a capacity of 40 kilowatt hours per day will be installed on the hotel roof.  This installation would fulfill the full power requirements of the hotel and restaurant, thus relieving the national grid.

We also have plans to further increase the installed capacity to 150 kilowatt hours per day by utilizing the available roof area.

We have installed a water recycling system sufficient subject all waste water to undergo a state of the art cleaning and recycling system.  The treated water is used for watering the lawns and garden plants.

All organic solid waste from the hotel and restaurant are collected and used to produce compost along with the garden waste.

All staff have been trained on the need to conserve energy and now engage in being alert to unnecessary air-conditioning and lighting, leaking and open faucets etc., and take remedial action.

Doing the right thing,at the right time.
